February half term in London (Monday 13th to Sunday 19th February) is just around the corner. So here are a few things to keep your kids learning and most importantly, having fun:

 

Be at one with nature

Head on down to Hackney City Farm to play with the animals and get mucky. They also run child friendly pottery classes suitable for all ages and abilities. Hackney City Farm has a great education team who run a mini farmers club and courses geared to learning about the environment.

This February half term at the Horniman Museum things have gone techno crazy. The Robot Zoo exhibition is all about showing off how amazing animals work. So how do chameleons change colour? Enter the fascinating world of the Robot Zoo to find out.

Do you have a mechanically obsessed child?

Well, the London Transport Museum is the place for you! Trace the history of London’s transport system and get on board several of the exhibits. There is also a family play zone for children 0-7. Additionally, older children can roam around several sleek design exhibitions that are currently on. All aboard!

Get away from it all

The Orchids exhibition at Kew Gardens might be just what you’re looking for. This is a wild celebration of vibrant colours, culture and plant life themed around India. The sounds of Indian life surround the beautiful exhibits to storm the senses. There are also hands-on workshops and ‘Orchid Lates’ for those romantic teens who haven’t forgotten it’s Valentine’s Day on Tuesday 14th February…
